Sirloin Tips and Mushrooms

Description

Beef sirloin cubes browned with garlic then simmered in tomato sauce and red wine until tender. Great over buttered noodles.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ pounds beef sirloin
  • 1 (16 ounce) can mushrooms, with liquid
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • salt to taste
  • freshly ground pepper, to taste
  • ¾ cup red wine

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add beef cubes and sear until browned on all sides
  2. 5 to 7 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant
  3. about 1 minute.
  4. Add mushrooms with their liquid
  5. tomato sauce
  6. and 3/4 cup red wine. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer until beef is tender
  7. about 30 minutes
  8. adding a little more wine if desired.

Cook Time: 45 mins

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins
