Serbian Cevapcici

Description

A delicious little sausage-like meat. Great served as a sandwich.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds ground pork
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • ½ pound ground lamb
  • 1 egg white
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat and lightly oil the grate.
  2. Combine ground pork
  3. ground beef
  4. ground lamb
  5. and egg white in a large bowl. Add garlic
  6. black pepper
  7. salt
  8. baking soda
  9. cayenne pepper
  10. and paprika. Mix well using your hands; form into finger-length sausages about 3/4-inch thick.
  11. Cook sausages on the preheated grill
  12. turning occasionally
  13. until no longer pink in the center
  14. about 30 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).
