Description
I never knew what I was missing until my mother-in-law made this! Everyone begged her for the recipe. A nice and easy way to feed a crowd. Thanks to my mother-in-law this has become a favorite dish! Can be frozen very well and doubled for a larger crowd. Top with your favorite shredded cheese.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 3 (15 ounce) cans black beans, undrained
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 ½ tablespoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon dried basil leaves
- 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large heavy pot over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; cook and stir until onion has softened and turned translucent
- about 5 minutes.
- Add turkey; cook and stir until browned and crumbly
- 5 to 7 minutes. Stir in beans

- chili powder
- oregano
- basil
- and vinegar. Reduce heat to low
- cover
- and simmer until flavors are well blended
- about 1 hour.
