Sweet Blackberry and Brandy Sauce

Description

This is a really easy sauce to serve over ice cream, cheesecake, or perhaps even pancakes. Serve it warm over vanilla ice cream or chill it, and serve over plain cheesecake.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon brandy
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • ΒΌ cup water

Instructions

  1. Place blackberries
  2. sugar
  3. and brandy into a saucepan and place over medium heat. Slowly bring to a simmer
  4. and cook until blackberries have softened
  5. about 10 minutes.
  6. Dissolve cornstarch in water and stir into the simmering berries. Continue cooking and stirring until the sauce has thickened and reached your desired consistency
  7. about 10 minutes.

Cook Time: 20 mins

Total Time: 25 mins
