Whey Protein Chocolate Chip Cookies

Description

A heartier alternative to the traditional chocolate chip cookie. Feel better about cheating on your diet with these whey protein cookies.

Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ cups vanilla-flavored whey protein powder
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup white sugar
  • 6 tablespoons sucralose and brown sugar blend (such as Splenda® brown sugar blend)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 (10 ounce) bag chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Combine whey protein
  3. whole wheat flour
  4. baking soda
  5. and salt in a bowl.
  6. Beat butter
  7. white sugar
  8. brown sugar substitute
  9. and vanilla extract together in a separate bowl until creamy. Add eggs one at a time
  10. mixing each one in fully before adding the next. Slowly beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts by hand.
  11. Drop tablespoonfuls of dough 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets.
  12. Bake in the preheated oven until edges are golden brown
  13. 9 to 12 minutes. Let cool for about 2 minutes before removing cookies from the sheets and placing on cooling racks.
