Low-Fat Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin pie filling
  • ½ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 egg whites
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ cup miniature chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Whisk flour
  3. baking soda
  4. and salt together in a bowl. Stir pumpkin pie filling
  5. applesauce
  6. sugar
  7. egg
  8. egg whites
  9. nutmeg
  10. cinnamon
  11. cloves
  12. and ginger together in a separate bowl. Whisk flour mixture into pumpkin mixture until batter is well combined; fold in chocolate chips. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  13. Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean
