Best Vegan Naan

Description

Try this delicious homemade dairy-free vegan naan bread! A perfect addition to any Indian meal and so versatile, it goes with everything.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup lukewarm water
  • 2 teaspoons white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 4 ½ cups bread flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ cup coconut oil, melted
  • ¾ cup plain non-dairy yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil

Instructions

  1. Mix water and sugar in a bowl; whisk until dissolved. Sprinkle yeast over water; let stand until yeast softens and begins to form a creamy foam

  15. Divide dough into 8 pieces on a floured surface. Roll dough slightly and place over parchment paper. Cover with a towel and let rise for 20 minutes. Roll into 8-inch ovals. Transfer to the preheated pizza stone; sprinkle with water and brush with canola oil.
  16. Bake in the preheated oven until golden and puffy
