Description

A traditional Czech pastry, it can be filled with a variety of fillings.

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups warm milk
  • 1 ½ (.25 ounce) packages active dry yeast
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • ½ cup shortening
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 6 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup fruit preserves
