Fluffy White Frosting

Description

This is the type of frosting that is cooked over the stove, then whipped. This goes well on almost any type of cake.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • ⅓ cup water
  • ¼ teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Stir sugar
  2. water
  3. and cream of tartar together in a saucepan. Cook over medium-high heat until sugar is dissolved and syrup is bubbly.
  4. Beat egg whites and vanilla in a glass

  6. or ceramic bowl until foamy. Gradually add hot syrup mixture
  7. continuing to beat until stiff peaks form
  8. about 7 to 10 minutes.
