Description
This is a great side dish for the holidays. Grandma always served this with Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Goes well with turkey and dressing.
Ingredients
- 1 (20 ounce) can white hominy
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon chopped jalapeno pepper, or to taste
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon butter, or to taste
- 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Combine hominy
- garlic
- and jalapeño in a saucepan. Bring to a boil
- reduce heat
- and simmer until hominy is tender
- 15 to 20 minutes. Strain out liquid and pour hominy mixture into a baking dish. Stir sour cream and butter into hominy mixture; top with Cheddar cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven until cheese melts
- about 25 minutes.
