Italian BBQ Pork Chops

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup balsamic vinegar
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 (6 ounce) pork loin chops
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Stir together vinegar
  2. ketchup
  3. brown sugar
  4. Worcestershire sauce
  5. Dijon mustard
  6. garlic
  7. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  8. and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper in a saucepan over medium-low heat; simmer sauce for 20 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to sit for 5 minutes.
  9. Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat and lightly oil the grate.
  10. Season pork chops with salt and pepper. Pour a small amount of sauce from the saucepan into a bowl. Brush chops with sauce from the bowl. Discard any remaining sauce from the bowl.
  11. Cook pork chops on the preheated grill until no longer pink in the center
  12. about 5 minutes per side. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read 145 degrees F (63 degrees C). Allow pork chops to rest for 3 minutes. Serve with remaining sauce on the side.
