Too Easy Peach Cobbler

Description

This cobbler is made with slices of white bread instead of the traditional biscuit dough.

Ingredients

  • 6 fresh peaches – pitted, skinned, and sliced
  • 1 ½ cups white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • 5 slices white bread

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Butter an 8-inch square baking dish.
  2. Cut crust from bread slices
  3. and cut each into 4 or 5 strips. Spread fruit into prepared pan
  4. and cover with a layer of bread strips.
  5. Beat together butter
  6. sugar
  7. and flour; mix in egg. Pour mixture over the fruit and bread.
  8. Bake in preheated oven for 35 to 45 minutes
  9. or until golden brown.
