Description
This is a wonderful quick recipe that is hearty and filling! This recipe can easily be modified. I use 3 cans of beans because I love beans! You can also add water to make it more of a soup.
Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic, or to taste
- ½ teaspoon taco seasoning mix, or more to taste
- 2 (14.5 ounce) cans diced stewed tomatoes with chili seasonings
- 3 (16 ounce) cans chili beans, undrained
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 (4 ounce) can diced green chilies
Instructions
- Place ground beef into a soup pot over medium heat; cook and stir until meat is browned
- breaking it up into crumbles as it cooks
- about 10 minutes.
- Stir in onion and garlic; cook until onion is translucent
- about 5 minutes. Drain excess grease if necessary. Sprinkle meat with taco seasoning mix; cook and stir for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Pour in beans
- chili-seasoned tomatoes
- tomato sauce
- and diced green chilies; stir to combine. Simmer until flavors blend
- about 30 minutes.
