David’s Yellow Cake

Description

After trying different cake recipes that I thought were too dry, I decided to try making up one of my own.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 ½ cups white sugar
  • 8 egg yolks
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups cake flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 8-inch
  2. round pans.
  3. Cream sugar and butter in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in egg yolks
  4. one at a time
  5. then stir in vanilla. Sift together flour
  6. baking powder
  7. and salt in a separate bowl. Beat in flour mixture alternately with milk
  8. mixing just until incorporated. Pour batter into the prepared pans.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven until cake tops spring back when lightly tapped
  10. 25 to 30 minutes. Cool 15 minutes before turning out onto cooling racks.

Cook Time: 30 mins

Total Time: 50 mins
