Baked Flan

Description

This is a quick and easy baked flan recipe that is prepared in the blender. It’s great served warm or cold and has a creamy texture like custard. Slice the flan and spoon a little of the melted sugar onto the top of the slice.

Ingredients

  • ⅔ cup white sugar
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Heat sugar in a small nonstick saucepan over medium heat until completely dissolved; shake and swirl the pan until sugar has caramelized and is a dark golden brown color; pour into a 1 1/2-quart baking dish
  3. and swirl to coat the bottom of the dish evenly.
  4. Combine cream
  5. condensed milk
  6. eggs
  7. milk
  8. and vanilla in a blender; blend on high for one minute. Pour mixture over caramelized sugar.
  9. Place the baking dish into a deep roasting pan; pour in enough boiling water to come 1 inch up the sides of the dish.
  10. Bake in preheated oven until flan is set
  11. 50 to 60 minutes.
