Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups rolled oats
  • ½ cup whole wheat flour
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons wheat germ
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ripe banana, mashed
  • ¼ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup dried cranberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Combine oats
  3. whole wheat flour
  4. all-purpose flour
  5. brown sugar
  6. wheat germ
  7. baking powder
  8. baking soda
  9. and salt in a large bowl. Add banana
  10. applesauce
  11. egg whites
  12. and vanilla extract; mix well. Gently fold chocolate chips and cranberries into the batter. Drop batter
  13. about 1 tablespoon at a time
  14. onto the prepared baking sheet.
  15. Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown
  16. about 12 minutes.
