• ½ cup shortening, chilled and diced
• 3 tablespoons ice water
• 2 teaspoons butter
• 1 ½ cups chopped pecans
• 3 eggs, beaten
• 1 cup real maple syrup
• ½ cup white sugar
• ⅓ cup butter, melted
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• ½ teaspoon salt
