Grandma’s Honey Bun Cake

Description

Sooo bad for you, but tastes sooo good. My family loves this cake; it tastes just like a honey bun.

Ingredients

  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 4 eggs
  • ⅔ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 3 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Lightly oil a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. Combine cake mix
  3. sour cream
  4. eggs
  5. and oil in a bowl. Beat with an electric mixer for 3 minutes. Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  6. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together in a small bowl. Sprinkle over batter in the pan. Carefully pour the remainder of the batter over the cinnamon-sugar layer.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean
  8. 45 to 50 minutes.
  9. Mix confectioners’ sugar
  10. milk
  11. and vanilla together in a bowl. Poke holes in the hot cake with a fork and pour sugar mixture over the top of the cake. Let cake cool completely before serving
  12. about 30 minutes.
