Description
This is a very old recipe from at least the 30’s. The name comes from the old expression meaning ‘great’.
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 cups quick cooking oats
- 1 ½ cups flaked coconut
- 2 cups crisp rice cereal
- 1 ½ cups chopped salted peanuts
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
- In a medium bowl
- cream together butter
- white sugar
- and brown sugar. Beat in eggs
- one at a time
- then stir in vanilla. Sift together flour
- baking soda
- baking powder
- and salt; stir into creamed mixture. Gently stir in oatmeal
- coconut
- rice cereal
- and chopped peanuts.
- Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove from cookie sheets to cool on wire racks.
