Panna Cotta with Strawberry Jam

Description

Delicious Italian dessert. You can serve it garnished with raspberries and mint leaves.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon unflavored gelatin
  • 1 tablespoon cool water
  • 1 ½ cups heavy whipping cream
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • ⅓ cup white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons grated lemon zest
  • ½ vanilla bean, split lengthwise
  • 6 tablespoons strawberry jam

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle gelatin over water; let stand until dissolved
  2. about 1 minute.
  3. Place heavy cream
  4. milk
  5. sugar
  6. lemon zest
  7. and vanilla bean in a saucepan over medium heat; cook
  8. stirring constantly
  9. until mixture is simmering. Simmer gently
  10. about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and discard vanilla bean.
  11. Stir gelatin mixture into the hot cream mixture until dissolved. Stir in strawberry jam. Pour into small dessert cups
  12. cover with plastic wrap
  13. and refrigerate until set
  14. 8 hours to overnight.
