Prepared Yellow Mustard

Description

Make your own prepared yellow mustard. It is so simple, and it is much healthier to eat!

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup water
  • ¼ cup mustard powder
  • 3 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon quick-mixing flour (such as Wondra®)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 pinch garlic powder
  • 1 pinch paprika

Instructions

  1. Combine water
  2. mustard powder
  3. vinegar
  4. flour
  5. salt
  6. turmeric
  7. garlic powder
  8. and paprika in a small saucepan over medium heat; whisk until smooth. Bring mixture to a boil
  9. reduce heat to medium-low
  10. and simmer
  11. stirring often
  12. until mustard is thickened
  13. 5 to 10 minutes.
  14. Remove the saucepan from heat; leave uncovered for 1 minute. Cover the saucepan with a lid until cooled to room temperature; refrigerate until chilled.
