Homemade Paleo-Style Breakfast Sausage

Description

Paleo style! Feel free to use whichever type of ground meat you prefer. Use ground pork, chicken, or turkey.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¾ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh sage leaves
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh thyme
  • ¼ teaspoon chopped fresh rosemary
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Mix together ground pork
  2. kosher salt
  3. black pepper
  4. sage
  5. thyme
  6. rosemary
  7. nutmeg
  8. cayenne pepper
  9. and red pepper flakes in a bowl. Knead with hands until thoroughly incorporated. Form into 8 patties.
  10. Place patties into a skillet over medium heat; cook until browned
  11. 8 to 10 minutes. Flip patties and continue to cook until fully cooked through
  12. 5 to 8 more minutes.
