Chocolate Cherry Cake III

Description

A must for chocoholics, very moist and fudgy, yet oh so simple to bake.

Ingredients

  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package devil’s food cake mix
  • 1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • ⅓ cup milk
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan.
  2. In a large bowl
  3. combine cake mix
  4. cherry pie filling
  5. almond extract
  6. and 2 eggs by hand; stir until well blended. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes
  8. or until it tests done. Cool.
  9. In a small saucepan
  10. combine sugar
  11. butter or margarine
  12. and milk. Boil
  13. stirring constantly
  14. for 2 minutes. Remove from heat
  15. and stir in chocolate chips until smooth. Immediately pour over partially cooled cake.
