Description
This is a delicious pizza sauce, quick and easy, and everyone who has it loves it. The olive oil near the end preserves its flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 (28 ounce) can tomato puree
- 1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 6 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Bring tomato puree
- diced tomatoes
- garlic
- brown sugar
- Italian seasoning
- basil
- and red pepper flakes to a boil in a large saucepan. Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered until sauce is thickened
- about 30 minutes. Stir olive oil into tomato sauce and simmer until hot
- 1 to 2 minutes more.
