Vegetarian Cottage Cheese Patties

Description

Delicious addition to any menu. Don’t be scared of the name. I hate cottage cheese but love these.

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 ½ cups cottage cheese
  • 1 ½ cups quick rolled oats
  • 3 tablespoons wheat germ (Optional)
  • 1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1 (10 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Beat eggs into a large bowl. Stir in cottage cheese
  3. rolled oats
  4. wheat germ
  5. dry onion soup mix
  6. and dried thyme. Form into 8 patties.
  7. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place patties in oil
  8. and brown on both sides. Remove patties to a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  9. Pour condensed soup into a small bowl. Stir in 1/2 can of water (or milk) to dilute
  10. then pour over patties.
  11. Bake in a preheated oven until the soup is bubbly
  12. about 20 minutes.
