The Best Sweet and Sour Meatballs

An easy, delicious recipe made with ingredients you always have around the house! A definite winner! Wonderful served with rice!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • ¼ cup distilled white vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Mix beef
  2. onion
  3. egg
  4. and bread crumbs together in a medium bowl until well combined; shape into balls
  5. about 1 1/2-inches in size.
  6. Cook meatballs in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat until evenly browned
  7. about 10 minutes; set aside.
  8. Stir water
  9. sugar
  10. vinegar
  11. soy sauce
  12. and flour together in a large saucepan until well combined. Add meatballs and bring to a boil; reduce heat to low and simmer
  13. stirring often
  14. for 30 minutes.
