Description
This is our favorite yellow cake recipe. I usually don’t get to put any icing on before it is gone.
Ingredients
- 1 cup shortening
- 2 cups white sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 ¾ cups milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch pan.
- Cream together sugar and shortening. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
- In a separate bowl
- combine flour
- baking powder
- and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Mix well. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes
- or until cake tests done. Cool.
