Chocolate Cake II

Description

This has been in my family forever. The secret is to NOT overbake it – that will ruin a chocolate cake every time.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot, strong coffee

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl
  3. stir together flour
  4. sugar
  5. cocoa
  6. baking powder
  7. and baking soda. Add oil
  8. milk
  9. eggs
  10. and vanilla; mix until smooth. Stir in hot coffee last. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 35 minutes
  12. or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.

Cook Time: 35 mins

Total Time: 50 mins
