Lola’s Horchata

Description

A very easy way to make great horchata!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup uncooked white long-grain rice
  • 5 cups water
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ tablespoon vanilla extract
  • ½ tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • ⅔ cup white sugar

Instructions

  1. Pour water and rice into a blender; mix until rice begins to break up
  2. about 1 minute. Let rice and water stand at room temperature for at least 3 hours.
  3. Strain rice water into a pitcher and discard rice. Stir in sugar
  4. milk
  5. vanilla
  6. and cinnamon.
  7. Chill thoroughly before serving over ice.

Total Time: 3 hrs 10 mins
