I came up with this oven-baked recipe to get my kids to enjoy salmon. My kids are not exactly salmon lovers but this worked.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil, divided, or to taste
- 5 cloves garlic, diced
- 1 (2 inch) piece fresh ginger, or to taste, peeled and diced
- 1 (1 pound) filleted side of salmon, skin removed
- salt to taste
- freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, or more to taste
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar, or to taste
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon Chinese chile paste
- ½ cup hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons plum sauce
- 2 tablespoons chicken broth, or more as needed
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 3 scallions, chopped, or more to taste
